Info letter August 2023

Dear readers,

the big move started this summer for the university library: On 7 August, the Central Library closed its doors. Two weeks later, the alternative location on Sebrathweg in the neighboring Technology Park opened its doors. The majority of the 1 million books will move to a storage magazine over the next two months. Meanwhile, the Emil Figge Library will be the central point of contact on campus until the new building opens in 2028/29.

For the learning workstations that were available in the central library, there are plenty of replacements in various locations on campus and soon even downtown during the transition period. An interactive map provides a good overview.

Starting in spring 2024, the old building will be deconstructed. Those who would like to walk through the rooms before then will have the opportunity to do so at the Open House on 28 October.
