Info letter March 2023

Dear readers,

Transfer from research to application is a particular concern of ours: With the participation of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Transfer (CET) and TU concept GmbH, two initiatives have now been launched to support the digitalization of the regional economy.

The newly opened Competence Center for Digital Production Technologies bundles the expertise of several of our faculties in order to support companies in the implementation of new projects together with the Dortmund Economic Development Corporation. The European Digital Innovation Hub Dortmund, funded by the EU with two million euros, also aims to promote digital skills in small and medium-sized enterprises.

For many years, Prof. Michael ten Hompel from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics has demonstrated how the transfer to society and industry can be successfully achieved. For his outstanding achievements in science and his special commitment to Dortmund as a technology location, he received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon this month.

This Infobrief contains further news from March.
