Exzellenzstrategie: Einladung zum Townhall-Meeting am 7. Oktober

Liebe Mitglieder der TU Dortmund,

am 2. Oktober erfahren die Ruhr-Universität Bochum und die TU Dortmund, ob ihr gemeinsamer Antrag für das Ruhr Innovation Lab in der Exzellenzstrategie erfolgreich war. Die Entscheidung können Sie ab 15:45 Uhr im Livestream verfolgen.

Das Ergebnis möchte ich für Sie am 7. Oktober 2026 gemeinsam mit meinem Amtskollegen Martin Paul einordnen. Daher laden wir Sie herzlich zu einem digitalen Townhall-Meeting um 14.15 Uhr ein. Die Moderation übernimmt Christina Elmer, Professorin für Digitalen Journalismus an der TU Dortmund. Sie können sich über folgenden Zugangslink einwählen:

Die Veranstaltung dauert etwa 60 Minuten, ist hochschulöffentlich und wird als Webinar in Zoom durchgeführt. Eine Anmeldung ist nicht erforderlich. Die Veranstaltungssprache ist Deutsch.

Auch wenn wir im Ruhr Innovation Lab von den beantragten Maßnahmen überzeugt sind, bleibt es spannend. Die Konkurrenz ist stark, und wir können vorab nicht sagen, ob es mit der Förderung klappt. Aber egal, wie es ausgeht, die Teilnahme hat uns auf jeden Fall nach vorn gebracht. Wir haben viel voneinander gelernt und viele neue Ideen entwickelt. Daher findet das Townhall-Meeting unabhängig vom Ausgang des Wettbewerbs statt. Es gibt auf jeden Fall viel zu besprechen!

Dear members of TU Dortmund University,

On October 2, Ruhr University Bochum and TU Dortmund University will find out whether their joint Excellence Strategy application for the Ruhr Innovation Lab was successful. Tune in to the livestream at 3:45 p.m. to follow the funding decisions.

On October 7, 2026, I would like to discuss the results with you together with my colleague Martin Paul. We cordially invite you to a digital town hall meeting at 2.15 p.m. The session will be moderated by Christina Elmer, Professor of Digital Journalism at TU Dortmund University. The event will last approximately 60 minutes, is exclusively open to the university community, and will be held as a webinar on Zoom. Registration is not required. The event will be held in German language.

Even though we at the Ruhr Innovation Lab believe in the proposed measures, it remains to be seen how things will turn out. The competition is tough, and we cannot say in advance whether we will receive funding. But no matter the outcome, taking part has definitely moved us forward. We have learned a lot from each other and developed many new ideas. Therefore, the town hall meeting will take place regardless of the competition’s outcome. There is certainly a lot to discuss!
