Info Letter December 2025

Dear Readers:

Throughout the year, many students, lecturers and researchers at our university demonstrate great commitment and achieve outstanding results. This month, as is customary in December, we had the pleasure of honouring some of them at our Academic Anniversary Celebration. Awards were given out for the best master’s and doctoral theses in each department. The Teaching Prizes and the Research Prize of the TU Dortmund Young Academy were also presented. Congratulations to all the award winners!

I would also like to congratulate Prof. Petra Wiederkehr, who was elected to the National Academy of Science and Engineering in recognition of her scientific excellence, and Dr. Malte Gersch, who was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant for his “UbiPRO” project in a highly competitive application process.

More news from December can be found in this info letter. I wish you happy holidays and all the best for the new year.

Best regards
Manfred Bayer
President of TU Dortmund University
