Info Letter December 2024

Dear Readers:

It has been a priority of mine since my election as President, and now the time has finally come: TU Dortmund University has signed a lease for the Hansa Carré in the city center and will move into two entire upper floors in the fall of 2026. This will create new spaces for student learning and public events in a central location with excellent connectivity, bringing the university closer to the city.

Strengthening ties with the city was also a focus for former President Detlef Müller-Böling. At the Academic Anniversary Celebration, we awarded him the University Medal in recognition of his commitment to Dortmund as a science city and to the Bildungsengel association, which he founded. I would also like to congratulate all the other award winners who were honored for their outstanding achievements in their studies, doctorates, teaching and research.
