Info Letter November 2025

Dear Readers:

This month, we submitted our application for the Excellence Strategy together with Ruhr University Bochum. Through the Ruhr Innovation Lab, we aim to pioneer new approaches and create a joint space for experimentation that opens up new freedoms for research and develops solutions for pressing issues in industry and society. We would be delighted if as many people as possible support this initiative and help raise its profile. All employees of TU Dortmund University are invited to use a supplementary email signature with the Ruhr Innovation Lab logo. You can download it from the ServicePortal.

The planned Consortium of Excellence builds on the long-standing cooperation within the University Alliance Ruhr. The success of our joint structures – established together with the University of Duisburg-Essen – was evident again this month: The Research Center Trustworthy Data Science and Security was presented to the public for the first time. Here, we conduct research into reliable and secure IT systems, with a particular focus on AI and cybersecurity.

You can find more news from November in this info letter.

Best regards
Manfred Bayer
