It was fantastic to welcome the majority of our more than 5,000 new students at the BVB stadium at the beginning of the semester. The winter semester also saw the launch of two new degree programs: the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and the Master of Science in Mechanics of Sustainable Materials and Structures, our 15th English language program.
Our courses are attracting more and more international students. To ensure that they stay in the region as professionals, the International Career Fair was held on our campus again this month. The International Office recently received an award from the Stifterverband for this exemplary cooperation with the IHK – congratulations! We also launched the beVinuS project to help as many first-year students as possible complete their degrees in STEM subjects and successfully started it in two pilot departments: Students can now brush up on their high school math skills individually during their studies – a kind of virtual zeroth semester.
Regardless of whether you are a newcomer or an old acquaintance: Anyone who would like to get to know our university better will have the opportunity to do so at the Open House Day on 9 November. I cordially invite you to take a look behind the scenes.
