Now it’s time to keep your fingers crossed! On Friday, 2 October, the German Science and Humanities Council will announce which universities and consortia will receive new funding under the Excellence Strategy. We will then finally know whether our joint proposal with Ruhr University Bochum for the Ruhr Innovation Lab succeeded in convincing the international jury. You can get the information first-hand by watching the national press conference live on YouTube.
A glance at this month’s news makes it clear that our university is already a hub for diverse, excellent research: Dr. Marius Wiesemann has decided to take up his ERC Consolidator Grant at the Department of Physics, and Dr. Jeannette Oholi and Dr. Christian Preuß are also planning to join TU Dortmund University with their ERC Starting Grants.
The EU is also funding a collaborative project on the circular economy, which is being led by the Institute of Production Systems. Furthermore, TU researchers are participating in a state-funded cancer research network and in the development of the largest gamma-ray observatory, which is funded by the federal government.
You can find more news in this info letter.
Best regards Manfred Bayer President of TU Dortmund University
