Info Letter July 2025

Dear Readers:

To promote promising deep-tech startups from the Ruhr region and further strengthen our transfer activities, the University Alliance Ruhr has joined forces with the RAG-Stiftung, the BRYCK Innovation and Startup Center, and the Initiativkreis Ruhr to form the BRYCK Startup Alliance. This month, we celebrated our first success in Berlin: The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is funding our consortium as one of ten with up to ten million euros in the nationwide EXIST lighthouse competition “Startup Factory”.

And it is not only with the BRYCK Startup Alliance, in which around 70 companies and institutions are involved via the Initiativkreis Ruhr, that we maintain close ties to the region. The Future Dialog regularly enables companies from the surrounding area to engage in substantive exchanges with our university’s students, scientists, and employees. The Association of Friends also forges valuable links with the economic, political and cultural environment.

You can find out more news from July in this info letter.

Best regards
Manfred Bayer
President of TU Dortmund University
