The Ruhr area is a dynamic region strongly characterized by science and culture. The members of the German Science and Humanities Council, whose spring meetings were hosted by the University Alliance Ruhr, were able to see this for themselves this month. At the university reception in the Dortmunder U, we also looked at our strategic vision: Together with Ruhr University Bochum and the University of Duisburg-Essen, we are planning to apply for the Excellence Strategy as a consortium.
In order to bundle our top international research, we are also currently establishing the Research Alliance Ruhr – and are delighted to announce another appointment: Prof. Anna Isaeva, who has already worked in Moscow, Antwerp, Dresden and Amsterdam, will develop new types of quantum materials at the Research Center Future Energy Materials and Systems.
The UA Ruhr will receive valuable advice from an International Advisory Board on how to position itself within the Excellence Strategy and how to further strengthen its international orientation: Six renowned experts from Europe, Asia and North America will provide their expertise.
