Info Letter March 2024

Dear Readers:

TU Dortmund University promotes international cooperation since it benefits researchers, students and society alike: it opens up different perspectives, leads to new insights or provides innovative solutions. This month, we have welcomed international guests to our university on several occasions: the College for Social Sciences and Humanities of the UA Ruhr has invited the first ten Senior Fellows to conduct research with professors in Dortmund, Bochum, Duisburg and Essen. An Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship has brought assistant professor Jinjin Ha from the University of New Hampshire to the Institute of Forming Technology and Lightweight Construction.

At the Spring Academy, students worked together in international teams to develop solutions for the conversion of large department stores – a topic that many cities in Germany and abroad are currently dealing with. Six of our students won the “Engineers Without Borders Challenge” by developing an experiment kit that will benefit elementary school children in Uganda. Congratulations!
