Info Letter January 2024

Dear Readers:

What kind of society do we want to live in? This question also concerns universities and their members. Everyone is currently called upon to defend the value of living together in democracy, which also means to stand up for diversity and to prevent discrimination. The new Counseling Center for Protection Against Discrimination and Sexualized Violence (SchuDS), which is visibly setting up its services this winter semester, is also raising awareness of this on our campus.

Members of various departments at our university have also an impact on society through transfer services, be it through educational concepts for disadvantaged children or technological solutions to strengthen local business partners. In order to make these contributions from TU Dortmund University visible, a private donor from Dortmund has now provided funding for a prize. In January, we were able to award the Dr. Michael Brenscheidt Transfer Prize to three TU projects for the first time.

Further news from January can be found in this info letter.

Best regards
Manfred Bayer
President of TU Dortmund University
