Just started studying and already unsure if it's the right thing to do? TU Dortmund University and Fachhochule Dortmund - University of Applied Sciences and Arts offer help for those in doubt and who are uncertain about their degree programs. "The Second Decision" is the name of the corresponding information event.

Students from both universities can find out more about their choice of study program or alternatives, and they will see that doubts can be cleared up.

The information event supports students in making a conscious and informed decision as well as in clearing up doubts. A lecture will highlight important factors for a well-founded choice of study and career, will name counseling services and show possible alternatives.

Following the lecture, the network partners of the advisory network "Doubting one's Studies" will be available to answer students' questions in a "Market of Opportunities". Topics may include: support in decision-making, overcoming the small and large challenges of everyday university life, options to bridge time, barrier-free studying, study financing, questions about the job market, apprenticeship in trade and industry, and much more. In addition, individual counseling appointments can be made. Among others, the Federal Employment Agency, the Chamber of Crafts (Handwerkskammer) and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Industrie- und Handelskammer) as well as contact persons within the university are represented.

A possible change of the degree program does not have to be a failure and a successful study is not excluded.

The event gives information about:

  • a well-founded study decision
  • counseling offers
  • tips and support in decision-making
  • and much more.

Participation is free of charge, registration is not required.
