Dortmund’s youth, school and education research works out empiric research results and adequate development concepts for preschool, school and vocational education. The research association German Youth Institute / Technische Universität Dortmund is among others dealing with the supply of extensive planning data for political decisions in the field of support for young people and families. But it also deals with the concept and evaluation of full-time care models. This topic establishes the connection with the settled evaluation research of the Institute for School Development Research which has continually been supplying analyses with regard to basic information about the education system. In view of research deficits in the elementary field, the Dortmund chairs in the field Early Childhood complete the profile area together with language educationalists as well as experts for disabilities and/or early intervention from the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences. The already existing cooperation with Universität Bielefeld will be extended with the aim to increase graduate support.
