The IT and Media Centre is the integrated service provider at Technische Universität Dortmund. It emerged from the former University Computer Centre (HRZ) and the Media Centre (MZ). The merger is to put strengthening the IT competences of the central institutions more into focus.
The task of the ITMC is the provision of modern and efficient IT infrastructure for the members of the TU. As a reliable and competent partner for science and teaching, the IT and Media Centre conceptually and operatively accounts for the comprehensive IT services and the comprehensive electronic media services, as well as for the IT security concept of the Technische Universität. By merging the two service institutions (MZ and HRZ) all IT and media services can be put under one umbrella. A fact that simplifies planning and coordination.
