On the one hand the Centre for Further Education (ZfW) is a service institution of the TU Dortmund. It develops its own ways of further education and endorses the further education offer of the university, especially for the faculties and the central scientific institutions, and takes over the management for these offers. This includes the planning, the organization and the realization of new further education offers. In cooperation with companies, associations and organizations tailor-made, target-group-specific and demand-oriented further education offers are developed.
On the other hand the ZfW carries out research and teaching via its two chairs dealing with organizational behavior. And therefore it takes on a special position nationwide. Research and teaching is especially offered in the fields further education, organization, social management, personnel management, modification management und participation management. The research activities include basic as well as applied research.
Above that the ZfW is responsible for the internal further education of the academic and administrative employees of the university. The manifold program offer can be found on the homepage of the ZfW.
