On October 6th the new North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of Science, Svenja Schulze, visited the TU Dortmund for the first time. After talks with members of the rectorate, the university council and the senate of the university the minister also held a discussion with students of the TU.
Minister Svenja Schulze especially appreciated the aspiration of the TU Dortmund as a university oriented towards high expertise in research and knowledge transfer: “This corresponds with the goal of not losing any talents anymore, as well as with the extended concept of innovation stated by the state government.”
In later talks, which Svenja Schulze held with representatives of the General Students’ Committee (AStA) and other students, the main topics were the numerus clausus and the university funding.
After a tour of Dortmunds electron accelerator facility DELTA the Minister of Science spoke to members of the network »Teacher Trainees with a migration background in North Rhine-Westphalia« (which is coordinated by the TU Dortmund) about their experiences.
